ELX9410 | Power supply terminal for E-bus refresh, with diagnostics

ExThe ELX9410 power supply terminal is used to refresh the E-bus. Data is exchanged between EtherCAT Coupler and EtherCAT Terminals over the E-bus. Each terminal draws a certain amount of current from the E-bus (see “current consumption E-bus” in the technical data). This current is fed into the E-bus by the corresponding coupler’s power supply unit. In configurations with a large number of terminals it is possible to use the ELX9410 in order to increase the E-bus power supply to 1 A. The ELX9410 has a diagnostics function, which is indicated by LEDs and on the process image.

In addition, the ELX9410 is equipped with a fin that can be used to check whether the separation distance stipulated by IEC 60079-11 is observed. This enables the installation of an additional ELX9560 power supply terminal in order to continue an ELX terminal strand on the same DIN rail. Moreover, two ELX9410 terminals can be installed in direct succession to reach the required separation distance for continuing the same terminal strand with standard EtherCAT Terminals. In this way, it is possible to conveniently combine the transmission of intrinsically safe signals with all features of the EtherCAT Terminals.
